Dean Herrera
Rec Ranger
My name's Dean, I'm from the Chicago area, and I'm excited to spend my third summer with the Yellowstone YCC. I was previously an enrollee and Youth Leader in 2015 and 2016, and am thrilled to get the chance to come back to the Park as a Rec Ranger for the summer. Yellowstone is an amazing place to work, and I'm here to share the fantastic experiences I had with the YCC with this year's youth.

Rec Ranger
Hey YCC! I'm from Omaha, Nebraska but I currently go to the University of Iowa as an Anthropology and Museum Studies major. Ever since I first visited Yellowstone as a kid, I've wanted to be a Park Ranger. I was an enrollee at YCC in 2018, a Youth Leader in 2019, and now I'm happy to be back again for new adventures in Yellowstone! Yellowstone and YCC hold a special place in my heart, I can't wait to share my excitement and love for this park!
Grace Aey

Grace is one of our Rec Rangers, and this is her second year working with YCC! She just graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Parks and Resource Management. Grace is originally from Canfield, Ohio and is most looking forward to making new connections with the youth this summer!

I’m from Elko, Minnesota and have a great passion for northern Minnesota and its ecology. I’m currently attending University of Wisconsin Stevens Point pursuing conservation law enforcement with a minor in environmental education/interpretation, and last fall I was a squad leader at one of NPS’s six Park Ranger Law Enforcement Academy programs. This summer I’m looking forward to learning from the youth with their diverse perspectives and backgrounds in addition to helping them better understand the world around them/what they can learn from it. With that, I look forward most to the youth getting excited about it all!
